There are moments when I catch my breath around this phenomenal young stallion. Moments as I pass his stall that he expresses a look that Majesteit once gave me. Moments where he grunts as he’s rolling or playing, and nostalgia sets in. Konquest’s characteristics are so similar to that of his sire Majesteit, at times it can be shocking.
You may ask, “Why did you choose this photo with his hind leg up?” This “flamingo” stance, as you will, is just another confirmation of the strength of Majesteit’s bloodline. This stance was a distinguishing trait of Majesteit’s, and we rejoice when his get and grand-get also exhibit this feature. Another English Pleasure legend to display this trait is the legendary, Adams Fire, who is out of Ritida, a Majesteit daughter. Konquest is clearly in exceptional company, and with Majesteit’s influence and a refined pedigree, Konquest has the makings of greatness.

A sire with a commanding presence and dynamic quality, Majesteit is arguably the most beautiful Dutch Harness Horse to have ever lived. Majesteit began his illustrious career showing successfully in the Netherlands. It was during this time that he garnered the title of, “The Most Beautiful Horse in the Netherlands”. After his importation to North America in July of 2000, he quickly became the leading non-Arabian sire of today’s most winningest Half Arabian show horses.
While Majesteit was registered as a Dutch Harness Horse, his sire, Immigrant (WC Harlem Globetrotter x Callaways Confetti), was double registered as Dutch Harness Horse and American Saddlebred. Immigrant’s sire, the incomparable Saddlebred stallion, WC Harlem Globetrotter who sired over 700 horses, including 149 Louisville ribbon winners and 31 Saddlebred Record Champions, was himself a nine-time World’s Champion. Majesteit’s dam, Henrietta (Waterman x Torette) brings DHH, Hackney, and Gelderlander attributes to the pedigree.
Majesteit’s success as a sire of Half Arabian show horses certainly owes tribute to his diverse parentage, which is a refined blend of elite Saddlebred, Dutch Harness, and Hackney bloodlines. We continue to mourn the loss of the great, Majesteit, however his legacy still carries on through the performance and breeding accomplishments of his sons and daughters, and their respective progeny.
